Visit begins with opening Mass, presentation and veneration on Sept. 13 from 7-9 p.m. at St. Isidore Church, 628 Diamond Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI.
This missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of four exact 4’ x 6’ replicas of the original Miraculous Image of Our Lady which she left on St. Juan Diego’s tilma in 1531. The replicas were commissioned and blessed by Monsignor Diego Monroy, Rector of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City to pilgrims all over the world to bring about conversion to the Catholic faith, reverence for life, the sanctity of the family, and solidarity of the Church in America. St. Isidore Church and the Philippine Cultural Group of Michigan invite you to attend and rejoice with them during this visit of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The image will arrive on Thursday, Sept. 12 and travel to various locations around Grand Rapids through Sept. 30. While in Grand Rapids, the image will travel to various destinations including Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Parish, Our Lady of La-Vang Parish in Wyoming, St. Ann’s Home, the Dominican Center at Marywood, the Garden of Life at HELP Pregnancy Crisis Aid and more, with stops back at St. Isidore. A public procession is planned for Sunday, Sept. 29 beginning at the Basilica of St. Adalbert and ending at Bishop Baraga's Mission Church marker at the corner of Seward and Butterworth.
