Season of Lent

Diocese of Grand Rapids, 360 Division Ave. S., Grand Rapids, MI 49503 View Map
Wednesday, February 26 to Thursday, April 9

The observance of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020. Lent is a time of grace, renewal and conversion through the practices of fasting and abstinence; worship, both personal and in communion with others, and works of mercy. Throughout Lent, which lasts approximately 40 days, all of these actions prepare us for the celebration of Holy Week and Easter during which we recall Christ’s passion, death and resurrection. Join us during this holy season.

Visit grdiocese.org/lent for Ash Wednesday Mass times, a Fish Fry & Lenten Meal Guide and other enrichment opportunities. On March 26 between 5 and 8 p.m. in the majority of Catholic churches in the diocese, experience God’s grace and merciful love through the sacrament of reconciliation during "The Light Is On For You: An evening of penance." Details at grdiocese.org/penance.
